Product Overview

EPC6929 is a B1-class flame-retardant low smoke zero halogen oxygen barrier compound developed for power cable constructions. It features good flame-retardant performance, low heat release and a high char-forming rate, making it suitable for cable oxygen-barrier layers that help protect the internal insulation and other cable materials during fire exposure.

 

As a thermoplastic HFFR fire-barrier material, EPC6929 forms a protective carbonized layer when exposed to heat and flame. It is suitable for LSZH power cables, flame-retardant cable oxygen barriers and zero-halogen fire-protection layers where enhanced charring performance and thermal shielding are required.

EPC6929 can be processed by thermoplastic extrusion. A low-compression-ratio screw and head are recommended, with a compression ratio of approximately 1:1–1:2. Keep the extrudate temperature below 165°C and do not exceed 175°C.

Adjust the extrusion conditions according to cable structure, equipment configuration, screw design and actual melt condition.

For special extrusion equipment, oxygen-barrier layer thicknesses or power cable structures, please contact our technical team for processing guidance.

Final processing parameters should be confirmed through production trials under the customer's actual extrusion conditions.
