Product Overview

EPC6928 is a B1-class flame-retardant low smoke zero halogen sheathing compound developed for power cable outer jackets. It provides good flame-retardant performance together with relatively low heat release and a low heat release rate, making it suitable for cable sheath constructions where fire safety, smoke control and halogen-free performance are required.

 

Designed as a thermoplastic HFFR cable jacket material, EPC6928 can be used for LSZH power cable sheathing, zero-halogen flame-retardant cable outer jackets and low-smoke polyolefin sheath applications. Its 38% oxygen index, 0 PPM halogen content and balanced mechanical properties support B1-class flame-retardant cable constructions while retaining conventional thermoplastic extrusion processing.

EPC6928 can be processed by thermoplastic extrusion. A low-compression-ratio screw and head are recommended, with a compression ratio of approximately 1:1–1:2. Keep the extrudate temperature below 165°C and do not exceed 175°C.

Adjust the extrusion conditions according to cable structure, equipment configuration, screw design and actual melt condition.

For special extrusion equipment, cable sheath thicknesses or power cable structures, please contact our technical team for processing guidance.

Final processing parameters should be confirmed through production trials under the customer's actual extrusion conditions.
