"Polyolefin Insulation Materials for Communication Cables" is a Chinese communications industry standard (Standard No. YD/T 760-2023); it was submitted under the jurisdiction of the China Communications Standards Association and is supervised by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Released on July 28, 2023, and implemented on November 1, 2023, the standard specifies the classification, applications, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of polyolefin insulation materials used in communication cables. This standard supersedes YD/T 760-1995.
The standard was drafted by the China Communications Standards Association in collaboration with nine organizations, including Chengdu Tairui Communication Equipment Testing Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Junzhi Technology Co., Ltd., with a drafting team comprising 17 experts, such as Long Yonghui, Zhou Chuannan, and Dai Kang. Compared to the 1995 version, the new standard expands the material's scope of application from urban communication cables to all communication cables and introduces new categories for physically foamed and chemically foamed insulation materials. The testing items cover the mechanical-physical properties, electrical properties, and hazardous substance content of both solid and foamed insulation materials, referencing technical specifications such as GB/T 8815-2008 and GB/T 33430-2016. The standard's filing number is 90804-2023, and the filing date is October 30, 2023.
